The portfolio* consists of two parts. A portfolio of competence and a portfolio of knowledgeable.

The portfolio of competence is important if you perform actions on animals. It is checked during the approval of a work protocol. The portfolio of knowledgeable is important for anyone registered as competent and is used to renew the registration of competence.

What does an employee keep in the knowledgeable section of the portfolio?
- All activities that ensure the exchange of information relevant for all activities involving animals used in science and education and that ensure that best practices are understood.
- Of those:
- name of activity;
- date of completion;
- providing organisation;
- hours needed to complete;
- wether or not a certificate is issued;
- wether or not this certificate required an assessment;
- what you have learned from the activity in relation to your work with animals within science or education.
Who is responsible for what?
- Training agreements:
- Employee/professional;
- Manager. - Record keeping (portfolio):
- Employee/professional. - Relevance check of the portfolio:
- Employee/professional;
- LLL coordinator. - Re-registration of employee with AWB:
- LLL coordinator.
What do you need to register for competence in your portfolio
- Each competence of before 01-02-2024 is established if competence is already proven before that using:
- WP number on which you performed this EPA - Competence to be established after 01-02-2024 is based on reporting of:
- Supervisor
- Assessor
- Assessment form
- Assessment date - For each competence of performing an EPA it is clear:
- What is the date of the last assessment or intercollegial exchange
- Colleague or assessor
- Date of this last assessment or exchange
